Times Water Miracles Occurred in the Bible

Living Water Never Runs Out

The Waters Still Speak

Praise be to God, who commands the waters and they obey! From the first waves that rolled across creation to the river that flows from His throne, every drop of water in Scripture testifies to His power, His mercy, and His authority.

When the seas raged, He calmed them. When the land was parched, He made springs appear. When sin defiled mankind, He brought cleansing through the Living WaterJesus Christ. The same God who spoke to the deep still speaks to us through these waters today. They tell us of His voice, His victory, and His invitation: come and be made whole.

1. Creation: Waters Divided by God’s Word

In the beginning, God spoke, and the waters obeyed. Genesis 1:6–10 declares that by His word, the seas gathered, and dry land appeared. What man could divide such power? None.

God alone brings order from chaos. He commands the elements and calls them into purpose. The same God who separated the waters now separates our lives from confusion, speaking clarity into every storm.

Friends, when life feels formless and void, remember – God still speaks light into darkness.

2. The Great Flood: Judgment and Renewal

The flood in Genesis 7:17–24 was no accident of nature – it was the voice of justice and mercy combined. The waters that destroyed also delivered. The ark was not just a boat; it was a prophecy of Christ. Through the waters came both death to sin and the birth of a new world.

Brethren, when God floods your life, it’s not to drown you – it’s to wash away what cannot stay. Judgment always makes way for redemption.

3. The Red Sea Crossing: Deliverance Through Water

Moses lifted his staff, and Exodus 14:21–31 tells us the waters split. Israel walked through on dry ground while Egypt’s might drowned behind them. The same sea that became a wall for the righteous became a grave for the wicked.

Friends, that’s the pattern of salvation – what frees one, condemns another. Baptism still preaches this truth: God makes a way through water when the enemy says there is none.

4. Bitter Waters Made Sweet at Marah

At Marah, Exodus 15:23–25 records that the people found water they could not drink. But God showed Moses a tree – a foreshadow of the cross – to make the waters sweet. What was bitter became a blessing.

Thank You, Lord, that You still turn pain into purpose. Every bitter season becomes drinkable when the wood of Calvary touches it.

5. Water from the Rock at Rephidim

In Exodus 17:5–6, Moses struck the rock, and living water poured out. The people drank, and their thirst was quenched. Paul later said, “That Rock was Christ.” He was smitten once, and now living waters flow freely to all who believe.

Brethren, even in your driest place, Christ is still the source. The desert cannot stop His supply.

6. Jordan River Parted for Joshua and Israel

Joshua 3:13–17 tells us that as soon as the priests’ feet touched the edge, the Jordan stopped flowing. The way opened. Faith stepped first, and the miracle followed.

What’s your Jordan? What stands between you and the promise? Take the first step, and watch God part what looks impossible.

7. Gideon’s Test with Dew

In Judges 6:36–40, God used dew to confirm His word. He met Gideon in doubt but didn’t let him stay there. The same hand that commands the rain can confirm your calling.

Praise the Lord – He is patient with the fearful and faithful to the fainthearted.

8. Water Defeats the Enemy (Sisera’s Fall)

Judges 5:21 says, “The river of Kishon swept them away.” Even the river became God’s weapon. When God fights for you, creation joins the battle.

Friends, the flood that seemed destructive was deliverance in disguise.

9. Elijah’s Altar Drenched with Water

In 1 Kings 18:33–38, Elijah poured water over his sacrifice before fire fell from heaven. Faith sometimes looks foolish before it looks victorious. When you obey against all logic, God answers with fire.

Water became the setup for glory. The more you pour out, the more He burns within.

10. Naaman’s Cleansing in the Jordan

In 2 Kings 5:10–14, a proud general dipped seven times and came out clean. The miracle waited beneath his pride. Obedience always precedes cleansing.

Brethren, don’t argue with the instructions – just obey. Your Jordan is the place of transformation.

11. Elisha Purifies the Polluted Spring

In 2 Kings 2:19–22, Elisha cast salt into a poisoned spring, and the waters were healed. God restores at the source.

If the water represents the heart, then only the Lord can cleanse from within. The cure begins where the corruption began.

12. The Floating Axe Head

A lost tool sank in 2 Kings 6:5–7, but when Elisha threw in a stick, it rose. What’s lost can be found when the cross touches it.

Nothing is too small for God’s redemption – not even a borrowed axe head. Praise be to God who restores the trivial and the treasured alike.

13. Jonah and the Great Fish

Jonah 1:15–17 paints a picture of divine mercy wrapped in judgment. Swallowed by the sea, Jonah found grace in the depths. Even when you run, God’s waves still find you.

The sea became his classroom, and the fish his revival tent. You can’t outrun mercy when it’s chasing you.

14. Jesus Turns Water into Wine

At Cana in John 2:6–10, Jesus took ordinary water and made extraordinary wine. He transforms not by addition but by transformation.

Praise the Lord – He still changes the plain into the precious, the empty into abundance, the natural into the supernatural.

15. Jesus Calms the Storm

In Mark 4:37–41, the disciples cried out as waves crashed. Then Jesus said, “Peace, be still.” And the wind ceased. The sea recognized its Creator.

Friend, your storm still knows His voice. The same Christ who slept in the boat still reigns over the chaos.

16. Jesus Walks on Water

Matthew 14:25–33 shows Jesus walking where men drown. Peter joined Him until fear took his focus. Faith walks; fear sinks.

Brethren, when waves rise, look up. The water beneath your feet is only solid because Jesus stands upon it.

17. The Coin in the Fish’s Mouth

In Matthew 17:27, Jesus told Peter to fish, and a coin appeared in the fish’s mouth. Provision swims in obedience.

When you follow His word, even the sea becomes a treasury. Thank You, Lord, that nothing escapes Your control – not even the fish.

18. Healing the Blind Man with Mud and Water

In John 9:6–7, Jesus mixed clay and sent the man to wash in Siloam. Obedience opened his eyes. Faith must move before sight returns.

Water became the threshold to revelation. When we wash at His word, we see as He sees.

19. The Pool of Bethesda

At John 5:2–9, an angel stirred the waters, but Jesus bypassed the system and healed a man directly. Grace isn’t random – it’s relational.

Friend, you don’t have to wait for the water to move; the Living Water is standing beside you.

20. Water and Blood from Jesus’ Side

When pierced in John 19:34, blood and water flowed forth. Out of His death came our life.

This was no coincidence – it was covenant. The water spoke of cleansing, the blood of redemption. Together they cried, “It is finished.”

21. The Ethiopian Eunuch’s Baptism

In Acts 8:36–39, the eunuch saw water and said, “What doth hinder me to be baptized?” Faith found its moment. True belief seeks immediate obedience.

He went down rejoicing. Every baptism since then echoes his joy – sins washed, soul renewed, heart filled.

22. Paul’s Baptism

After encountering Christ, Acts 9:18 tells us Paul arose and was baptized. Conversion without obedience is incomplete.

The persecutor became the preacher. The water became a doorway to purpose.

23. The River of Life in Revelation

Revelation 22:1–2 closes the story where it began – with water flowing from the throne. Every stream, every sea, every storm was leading here.

The Living Water never runs dry. Praise the Lord, for the same river that flowed in Eden now flows from eternity. What began with division ends with restoration.

Final Reflection

From the first drop to the final river, water tells the story of redemption. It cleanses, divides, refreshes, judges, and heals – but it always points to Jesus Christ. He is the Living Water that quenches the deepest thirst.

As He said in John 7:38, “He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.”

Praise be to God – the miracle still flows.

In Acts 2:37 Peter and the Apostles were asked the question – What Shall We do?

And in Acts 2:38 Peter answered, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

Do you understand this? After hearing the gospel and believing, they asked what should would do. The answer hasn’t changed friend, Peter clearly gave the answer. The question for you today is, Have you receieved the Holy Spirit Since you believed?
