Seek First the Kingdom of God – Watch Everything Fall Into Place

Seek First the Kingdom of God

Brethren, hear the voice of the Lord calling through the noise of this restless world: “Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” (Matthew 6:33, KJV)

This isn’t a casual suggestion – it’s a divine command. A summons to reorder your life around eternal priorities instead of temporary pursuits. The King Himself has spoken, and His kingdom must come before comfort, before career, before control.

The world says, “Chase what you can see.” But Jesus says, “Pursue what is unseen.” The world says, “Secure your future.” But the Lord says, “Trust Me with tomorrow.” Every anxious thought, every sleepless night, every desperate search for more is silenced when the soul bows to this one truth: God’s kingdom first.

So, let this be our declaration: We will not chase what perishes. We will seek what is eternal. We will not be driven by fear. We will be led by faith. We will not serve Mammon. We will serve the Master. For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. Praise the Lord!

The Call to Divine Prioritization

Friends, life has a way of dragging our focus toward what fades – money, reputation, security. But Jesus turns our gaze upward. He says, “Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on.” (Matthew 6:25) Why? Because He knows that worry chains the heart to earth. But the heart that seeks the kingdom is set free to soar.

Every sunrise brings new distractions, but the call remains the same: Seek first. Not second. Not when convenient. Not when life slows down. First. Before scrolling. Before striving. Before stressing. The kingdom of God must come first.

The Futility of Worry

Worry is a thief. It steals your peace, your focus, and your joy. Jesus said, “Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?” (Matthew 6:27) Worry doesn’t fix the future – it only poisons the present. God never asked you to carry tomorrow’s burdens on today’s back.

When the mind runs wild with “what ifs,” remember the lilies and the sparrows. “Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap… yet your heavenly Father feedeth them.” (Matthew 6:26) If He feeds them, will He not feed you? “Consider the lilies of the field… even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.” (Matthew 6:28-29) If He clothes them, will He not clothe you? Praise be to God – He is faithful.

When faith whispers “God will provide,” worry shouts “But what if He doesn’t?” That’s when we must answer back, “The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want.” (Psalm 23:1)

The Assurance of Provision

Praise the Lord – our God is not stingy. He’s not uncertain. He’s not asleep. Jesus promises, “Your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.” (Matthew 6:32) He knows before you ask. He provides before you plan. He sees before you stress. The same God who painted the skies and feeds the sparrows is watching over your next meal and tomorrow’s bills.

When you put His kingdom first, you unlock the assurance of divine provision. God’s math is different – He multiplies by surrender. He adds by subtraction. The moment you stop clutching what’s temporary, He fills your hands with what’s eternal.

The Contrast with the World

The pagans chase after things. They live for possessions, positions, and pleasures. But the child of God lives for purpose. Jesus said, “For after all these things do the Gentiles seek.” (Matthew 6:32) The difference between the world and the believer is not found in their needs – but in their pursuit.

The world runs after the seen; we pursue the unseen. The world clings to the now; we live for the forever. The world says, “I must make it happen.” We say, “God will make a way.” Friends, who are you running with – the world or the Word?

The Heavenly Perspective

Every trial, every need, every uncertainty is a chance to lift your eyes higher. Jesus said, “Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?” (Matthew 6:25) He’s inviting us to think eternally. To trade panic for perspective. To see the unseen hand of God working behind every moment of delay or disappointment.

When you start seeing life from heaven’s point of view, everything changes. You’ll stop asking, “Why me?” and start saying, “What is God teaching me?” You’ll stop hoarding what you have and start trusting the One who gives.

The Promise of Added Blessings

Oh, what a promise! “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” (Matthew 6:33) Not some things – all things. God adds peace to your storm. He adds strength to your weakness. He adds purpose to your pain.

You don’t have to chase the blessings when you’re walking with the Blesser. The Lord is not holding out on you – He’s holding things for you, waiting until your priorities align with His. Praise the Lord, when you put Him first, you never come last.

Encouragement Against Tomorrow’s Worries

Jesus closes this teaching with a gentle warning and a powerful comfort: “Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself.” (Matthew 6:34) In other words, don’t borrow trouble from tomorrow. Each day has enough weight of its own.

So, what should we do instead? Trust. Rest. Obey. Today. Thank God for His daily bread – not weekly, not yearly – daily. Like Israel gathering manna in the wilderness, we’re called to live by fresh faith each morning.

Tomorrow is God’s territory. Today is yours to trust Him. Praise be to God, He has never failed yet – and He’s not about to start with you.

A Final Appeal

Friends, let’s be honest. We spend so much energy chasing what can’t last, stressing over what God already promised to handle. But tonight, the Lord calls you to shift your heart. To trade anxiety for assurance. To replace striving with seeking. To stop chasing things and start pursuing Him.

Seek first the Kingdom. Live for what matters. Let God handle what doesn’t.
Because when you put God first, everything else falls into place.

Praise the Lord. Thank You, Lord. Your kingdom come. Your will be done. Amen.
