Not only is God merciful he is plenteous in mercy. That means he has more mercy than we can even imagine. Lots and lots of mercy, an abundance of mercy, and he abounds in mercy.

The definition of mercy is kindness, faithfulness, loving-kindness, favor, and pity. God has plenty, lots, an abundance, of all these things toward us.

God Has An Abundance Of Mercy

  • For thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive; and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon thee. (Ps 86:5)

 

  • The word plenteous also means: plenty, abounding, much, great or abundant.
  • The word mercy also means kindness, faithfulness, loving-kindness, favor or pity.

 

  • Jude 1:21 encourages me to keep myself in the love of God, looking for the mercy of my Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.
  • According to 1 Peter 1:3 I have been born again into a lively hope by God’s abundant mercy through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.
  • James 5:11 reminds me that God is very pitiful and of tender mercy.
  • Hebrews 4:16 tells me to come boldly before the throne of grace that I may obtain mercy and find grace to help in my time of need.

  • To crown also means: to surround
  • Loving-kindness can also mean: goodness and faithfulness
  • Tender-mercies can also mean: compassion or tender love

 

  • Psalm 40:11 says withhold not your tender mercies from me, O Lord: let your loving-kindness and your truth continually preserve me.
  • Psalm 51:1 states Have mercy upon me, O God, according to your loving-kindness: according to the multitude of your tender mercies blot out my transgressions.
  • Psalm 69:16 says Hear me, O Lord, for your loving-kindness is good: turn unto me according to the multitude of your tender mercies.
  • Psalm 23 wonderfully sums up all of the above. The Lord is my shepherd I shall not want (I lack nothing).
