The Terms Of Peace: The Only Way To Have Peace With God

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

God is Holy and all of us have come short of the glory of God therefore all of us have been the enemies of God. Because while we were yet sinners Christ died for us.

The victor in any battle decides the terms of peace.

So if we were God’s enemies and the wages of sin is death we were clearly on the losing side. Jesus conquered death and Jesus came to reconcile us to God. Therefore to offer us a way out of the battle and to have peace.

We are in no place to dictate terms. God decides the terms of peace and peace comes through Jesus Christ.

The ONLY Way To Have Peace With God Is Through Jesus Christ

Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. (Roms 5:1-2)

  • By Jesus, we have access to the faith that justifies.
  • Through Jesus, we have peace with God!

Without The Spirit of Christ You Are None Of His

For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. (Roms 8:6-9)

You can not please God. You can not be spiritually minded without the Spirit of God. It saddens me when I see that there are thousands of searches on Google every month from people asking how you know if you have the Holy Spirit.

Let me tell you if you have to ask you don’t have!

When you receive the Holy Spirit you know. I knew the very instant I received the Holy Spirit because I spoke in tongues as the Spirit gave me the utterance. And speaking in tongues was also a witness to others that I had received the Holy Spirit. (Acts 2:1-4)

The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God. (Rom 8:16)

But more than speaking in tongues – The Spirit bears witness with your spirit. There is no doubt. You KNOW you have the Holy Spirit. God didn’t leave something of so much importance to guesswork. He confirms it so you know with 100% certainty you have the Holy Spirit.

Acts 8:14-17 – clearly shows that it is easy to know when someone hasn’t received the Holy Spirit and when they have.

So if you don’t know – you don’t have. So please search this out more – it is too important to ignore!

Remember God chose the terms of peace.

Unless you are born again you can not see the Kingdom of God. Unless you are born of water and Spirit you can not enter the Kingdom of God. (John 3:1-8)

It is God’s kingdom and God has told you the terms whereby you can enter. You MUST be born of water and Spirit/born again.

Jesus Christ – His Blood – Made Peace – By The Cross – Access By One Spirit

But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ. For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us; Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace; And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby: And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh. For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father. (Eph 2:13-18)

  • Both Jew and Gentile… therefore EVERYONE can be reconciled to God by the BLOOD of Christ.
  • Jesus is our PEACE
  • Jesus reconciles us to God BY THE CROSS
  • Through Jesus, we have ACCESS by ONE SPIRIT to the FATHER

Do you see how everything fits together? Jesus’ death, his blood, the cross, and the Holy Spirit = reconciliation/peace with God.

Once again these are the terms of peace!

And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven. (Col 1:20)

We really can be a proud bunch at times!

God decides the terms of peace. God decided how we can enter his Kingdom. God decides how we should live in his Kingdom.

Yet there are myriad arguments from all over the place saying you can get into the Kingdom another way. So many try to tell God what to do. They don’t like what God has to say about life in his Kingdom and want to introduce things that totally disagree with what God says.

Statements like… I can’t believe in a God that (fill in the blank). Or… why don’t we allow this or that. We puny insignificant human beings with such limited knowledge dare to tell the Almighty, all-knowing God that we know better.

What shame we should feel.

God has told us what the terms of peace are

Sign the peace terms. Again… by receiving his Holy Spirit.

In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise. (Eph 1:13)

Allow God to seal/sign the peace treaty upon your heart. When you receive the Holy Spirit, God takes away your stony heart (that makes you an enemy of God) and gives you a heart of flesh

A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. (Eze 36:26)
