The story of Moses and the burning bush in the book of Exodus is a powerful reminder of the presence and power of God in our lives. In this story, God speaks to Moses through a burning bush that is not consumed by the flames, and reveals His plan to deliver the Israelites from slavery in Egypt.

We are baptized with the Holy Ghost, and with fire (Mt 3:11). In a sense the Church is now the burning bush, the word of God proceeds out from us (we are witnesses, ambassadors, evangelists, etc), and he burns up the chaff in our lives yet we are not consumed.
