The Evidence and the Assurance

Spirit bears witness we are God’s children

Stop Guessing – Start Knowing.
Salvation Was Never Meant to Be a Mystery.

God didn’t call you to hope you’re savedHe called you to know you are. The Holy Ghost isn’t a feeling that fades or a fleeting emotional moment; He’s God’s own witness living inside you. The Spirit doesn’t leave you hanging between doubt and faith – He moves in and settles the question forever.

The Lord designed salvation to be felt, known, and proven. Not by human reasoning, but by divine indwelling. When the Spirit comes, He doesn’t suggest – you’re His. He confirms it. He doesn’t whisper a guess – He bears witness. He doesn’t just visit – you become His temple, His dwelling place, His child sealed with promise.

You were never meant to live half-sure, half-afraid, wondering if heaven will really open for you one day. God gave you the Spirit of Truth so you could walk in confidence, power, and peace. The Holy Ghost is not an optional upgrade for the “extra spiritual” – He’s the very proof that you belong to the Kingdom.

So don’t settle for uncertainty. Don’t live another day wondering if you’ve really been born again. God has already provided the evidence – the Spirit Himself. When He fills you, He marks you. When He speaks through you, He seals you. And when He lives in you, He assures you that your name is written in heaven.

This is the proof God wants you to have – an unshakable, Spirit-filled assurance that declares: “I am His, and He is mine.”

The Spirit Confirms, Not Confuses

Brethren, the Bible says, “The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God” (Romans 8:16). That’s not a suggestion or a hopeful thought – it’s divine confirmation. The Spirit doesn’t whisper “maybe”; He declares “you’re mine.”

When the Spirit fills a believer, He doesn’t just cleanse the past – He confirms the future. That inner witness is not emotional hype; it’s heaven’s testimony inside your soul.

Sealed and Signed by God Himself

Ephesians 1:13–14 declares, “After that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, which is the earnest of our inheritance.” The Spirit is God’s signature on your soul, His down payment guaranteeing eternal life.

Think of it this way: a seal means ownership. When a king sealed a decree, no one dared break it. God has sealed you the same way – by His Spirit. No enemy can unseal what the Lord has signed.

The Outward Sign and the Inner Witness

When the Spirit came upon believers in the Book of Acts, something unmistakable happened. Acts 2:4 says they “began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.” The same pattern repeats in Acts 10:44–46 and Acts 19:6.

That sound wasn’t confusion – it was confirmation. Speaking in tongues was the initial evidence of being filled with the Spirit. It was God’s chosen sign, repeated every time He poured out His Spirit in the New Testament church.

But friends, the Spirit’s work doesn’t stop at one moment of proof. The same power that filled you keeps working in you.

Peace, Power, and Fruit – the Ongoing Evidence

The Spirit not only enters – He endures. Philippians 4:7 promises a peace that “passeth all understanding.” Acts 1:8 says you “shall receive power” after the Holy Ghost comes upon you. And Galatians 5:22–23 shows the fruit that follows – love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, and temperance.

Peace becomes your anchor. Power becomes your portion. Fruit becomes your evidence.

And don’t forget what Romans 8:11 says: “The Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you.” The same Spirit that raised Christ is living proof that resurrection power is now at work in you.

A New Heart and a New Spirit

Centuries before Pentecost, Ezekiel 36:26–27 foretold it: “A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you.” That wasn’t symbolic – it was prophetic.

Jesus echoed it in John 3:5: “Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.” The new birth is not a metaphor – it’s a miracle. The Spirit makes you new from the inside out.

From Doubt to Divine Confidence

When the Spirit moves in, uncertainty moves out. The old fears and “what-ifs” give way to assurance. Hebrews 13:5 reminds us of His voice within: “I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.”

That’s not a verse to quote – it’s a promise to live by. Every morning, the Spirit whispers, “You are mine.” Every trial, He assures, “I am with you.”

More Than Religion – A Relationship

This isn’t about being part of a denomination; it’s about being part of God’s family. The Spirit brings a love that can’t be faked (Romans 5:5), a joy that can’t be shaken (John 15:11), and a peace that can’t be explained.

You don’t have to chase assurance; you can walk in it. The Spirit Himself keeps testifying inside you that you belong to God.

Closing Declaration: Living Proof of Redemption

The same Spirit who hovered over the waters in Genesis 1 now dwells in you to prove, every single day, that redemption is real and your salvation is sure.

Praise the Lord! Thank You, Lord! Praise be to God – because His Spirit doesn’t leave us guessing. He leaves us sealed, filled, and assured.

Call to Action: The Question That Demands an Answer

In Acts 2:37 Peter and the Apostles were asked the question – What Shall We do?

And in Acts 2:38 Peter answered, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

Do you understand this? After hearing the gospel and believing, they asked what should would do. The answer hasn’t changed friend, Peter clearly gave the answer. The question for you today is, Have you receieved the Holy Spirit Since you believed?
