You know what it’s like to need something from God… but hesitate.
You’re not sure if it’s for you. Not sure if you qualify. Not sure if you should even ask.
So you stay back. You wait. You watch others step in.
But what if the only thing stopping you… is that you’re not coming?
Let’s see what the Scripture actually says.
“And the people, when they knew it, followed him: and he received them, and spake unto them of the kingdom of God, and healed them that had need of healing.”
Luke 9:11 (KJV)
“The people… followed him”
It starts with movement.
They didn’t wait for an invitation. They didn’t stay where they were.
They followed.
That means they made a decision. They went toward Him.
This isn’t complicated, but it is important.
Nothing happens until they move.
Are you waiting… or are you moving?
“He received them”
This is where a lot of people get it wrong.
They assume He turns people away. That He filters. That He picks and chooses.
But this says the opposite.
“He received them.”
No rejection. No hesitation.
They came… and He welcomed them.
Do you see how simple that is?
“Spake unto them of the kingdom of God”
Before anything else, He speaks.
Why?
Because the kingdom shapes how you see everything.
Healing isn’t random. It’s connected to how God’s kingdom works.
He’s not just fixing problems. He’s revealing what life under His rule looks like.
That means what He’s about to do isn’t an exception.
It’s a glimpse.
“Healed them that had need of healing”
This is direct.
Not some. Not a few. Not the most deserving.
“Them that had need.”
That’s the qualifier.
Need.
Nothing else is mentioned.
No long checklist. No spiritual résumé. No delay.
If they needed healing… He healed them.
That’s not what most people expect, is it?
What’s happening in this moment
Jesus had just withdrawn with His disciples.
But the crowd finds Him.
And instead of sending them away, He receives them.
He teaches them. Then He heals.
This shows His heart clearly.
He doesn’t avoid need. He responds to it.
And He doesn’t separate truth from action.
He speaks… and then He demonstrates.
Scripture that lines up with this
In Matthew 14:14,
“He was moved with compassion toward them, and he healed their sick.”
Compassion leads to action.
In Luke 4:40,
“He laid his hands on every one of them, and healed them.”
Again, no select group. Every one.
In Acts 10:38,
“Jesus… went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil.”
That’s consistent. Not occasional.
The part most people feel but don’t say
Here’s the real struggle.
You know you need something.
But inside, there’s hesitation.
“Is this really for me?”
“Maybe others… but not me.”
So you stay on the edge.
You don’t step in fully.
Do you feel that?
Have you been holding back… even though you know you need it?
What this is calling you into
This isn’t telling you to qualify yourself.
It’s showing you what qualifies you.
Need.
And it shows you what to do.
Come. Follow. Receive.
That might look like actually bringing it to Him instead of carrying it quietly.
It might mean stopping the internal debate and just stepping forward.
It also means letting go of the idea that you have to earn it.
You don’t.
You come because you need.
What would it look like for you to actually approach Him like that?
Bringing it back to you
This verse is simple on purpose.
They followed Him.
He received them.
He taught them.
He healed those who needed it.
No complications added.
So if the only thing mentioned is need… why are you still standing back?
