How to Subdue Kingdoms with Like Precious Faith

How to Subdue Kingdoms

Let’s not rush past the weight of this.

“Who through faith subdued kingdoms…” (Hebrews 11:33, KJV)

That’s not symbolic language. That’s real people, real faith, real outcomes.

And here’s what can feel confusing. Those people weren’t a different breed. They had the same kind of faith Peter later calls:

“Like precious faith…” (2 Peter 1:1, KJV)

So the question is not whether you have access to that kind of faith.

The question is… how does it actually grow to that level?

Because nobody starts there.

“Subduing Kingdoms” Starts Smaller Than You Think

When you hear “subdue kingdoms,” your mind might jump to massive moments.

But Scripture shows something different.

Before David faced Goliath, he faced lions and bears. Quiet battles. Hidden victories.

Before Daniel influenced kings, he chose not to defile himself in small daily decisions.

Faith that subdues something big is built by overcoming what’s right in front of you.

“He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much.” (Luke 16:10, KJV)

So don’t overlook the small moments.

That’s where strength is formed.

The Same Faith, But Not the Same Growth

Peter makes it clear.

“To them that have obtained like precious faith…” (2 Peter 1:1, KJV)

Same kind of faith.

But then he says:

“Add to your faith…” (2 Peter 1:5, KJV)

That means growth is intentional.

You don’t automatically move from believing to overcoming everything in front of you.

You build.

Step by step.

Knowing God Is What Strengthens Faith

This is where most people underestimate the process.

“Grace and peace be multiplied… through the knowledge of God…” (2 Peter 1:2, KJV)

Faith grows as your understanding of God deepens.

Not just knowing about Him.

Knowing Him.

Because when you truly know who He is, trusting Him becomes less of a struggle and more of a response.

Faith Acts Before It Sees

Every person in Hebrews 11 had one thing in common.

They acted.

“By faith Noah… prepared an ark…” (Hebrews 11:7, KJV)
“By faith Abraham… went out, not knowing…” (Hebrews 11:8, KJV)

They didn’t wait until everything made sense.

They moved because God spoke.

This is where faith shifts from potential to power.

If you never act, your faith stays theoretical.

The Holy Spirit Empowers What Faith Begins

Here’s something you can’t ignore.

Faith is not meant to function alone.

Pentecost changed everything.

“And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost…” (Acts 2:4, KJV)

After that, the disciples didn’t just believe. They moved with boldness.

What faith started, the Spirit empowered.

Paul later describes it this way:

“…strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man.” (Ephesians 3:16, KJV)

That inner strengthening is what allows you to stand when things feel overwhelming.

Authority Comes from Alignment

Subduing anything is not about forcing outcomes.

It’s about alignment with God.

Jesus said:

“All power is given unto me…” (Matthew 28:18, KJV)

And when you walk with Him, you’re not operating independently.

You’re moving in agreement.

This is why the apostles didn’t just act randomly. They were led.

“As many as are led by the Spirit of God…” (Romans 8:14, KJV)

That’s where authority comes from.

Not self-confidence. Alignment.

Unbelief Is What Weakens Faith’s Impact

Let’s be honest here.

Faith and doubt can exist at the same time.

And if doubt is left unchecked, it limits what faith can do.

Jesus said:

“Because of your unbelief…” (Matthew 17:20, KJV)

That’s why growth involves dealing with what you don’t fully trust yet.

Not pretending it’s not there.

Bringing it to God.

“Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.” (Mark 9:24, KJV)

That honesty matters.

Consistency Builds Strength

Nobody in Hebrews 11 had one moment of faith and stopped there.

They lived it.

Day after day.

“Let us run with patience the race that is set before us…” (Hebrews 12:1, KJV)

This is where real strength is built.

Consistency.

Trusting God again.
Obeying again.
Standing again.

Even when it doesn’t feel dramatic.

What “Subduing Kingdoms” Looks Like Today

Let’s bring this into real life.

It might not look like overthrowing nations.

But it does look like:

Breaking patterns that once controlled you.
Standing firm when pressure comes.
Walking in authority over fear, sin, and doubt.

Those are real victories.

And they come from the same process.

Bringing It Into Your Life

Start where you are.

Don’t aim for the biggest battle first.

Stay in the Word.
Grow in knowing God.
Act on what He shows you.
Depend on the Holy Spirit.

And keep going.

Because faith grows through use.

Final Thought

You already have “like precious faith.”

That’s not the question.

The question is… will you build it?

Because the same faith that starts small can grow into something that overcomes what once felt impossible.

Not overnight.

But step by step.

And when it’s strengthened, aligned with God, and empowered by His Spirit, it doesn’t just believe.

It overcomes.

That’s how faith begins to subdue what once ruled over you.

Call to Action: The Question That Demands an Answer

In Acts 2:37 Peter and the Apostles were asked the question – What Shall We do?

And in Acts 2:38 Peter answered, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

Do you understand this? After hearing the gospel and believing, they asked what should would do. The answer hasn’t changed friend, Peter clearly gave the answer. The question for you today is, Have you receieved the Holy Spirit Since you believed?
