You might be thinking God can use certain people.
The ones with the right position. The right title. The right stage.
But not you. Not where you are.
And even if you believe He can move… you’re waiting for the right setup first.
The right place. The right moment.
So you hold back.
Let’s see what the Scripture actually says.
Acts 8:5–8 (KJV)
“Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and preached Christ unto them.
And the people with one accord gave heed unto those things which Philip spake, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did.
For unclean spirits, crying with loud voice, came out of many that were possessed with them: and many taken with palsies, and that were lame, were healed.
And there was great joy in that city.”
Start with this.
“Philip went down…”
No buildup.
No special introduction.
Just movement.
He went.
That’s where it starts.
Not with a title.
Not with recognition.
With obedience.
Do you see that?
“And preached Christ unto them.”
That’s the focus.
Not himself.
Not an experience.
Christ.
Everything flows from that.
Then look at the response.
“The people… gave heed…”
They listened.
But not just because of words.
“Hearing and seeing the miracles…”
There’s a connection.
They hear the message.
They see the confirmation.
That’s not random.
Is that what you expected?
Then it gets specific.
“Unclean spirits… came out…”
“Many… were healed.”
Real situations.
Real change.
Not symbolic.
Not partial.
Something actually happened.
And then this.
“There was great joy in that city.”
That’s the result.
Not just individual relief.
A whole city affected.
Joy replaces what was there before.
Now step back into the context.
This happens right after persecution hits the early church.
People are scattered.
Not positioned.
Not strategically placed.
Scattered.
Philip ends up in Samaria.
A place with tension.
A place many would avoid.
And yet… that’s where God moves.
That matters.
Because this didn’t come from ideal conditions.
It came from someone going where they were sent.
You see this pattern elsewhere.
In Mark 16:15–18 (KJV)
“Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel… they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.”
Go first.
Then speak.
Then God confirms.
And in 1 Corinthians 2:4 (KJV)
“My speech and my preaching was not with enticing words… but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power.”
Not just words.
Demonstration.
And in Romans 15:18–19 (KJV)
“…by word and deed… through mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God…”
Same pattern again.
Word.
Deed.
Power.
Now be honest for a moment.
You might be waiting.
Waiting to feel ready.
Waiting for things to line up.
Waiting for some kind of confirmation before you move.
Is that what’s been happening?
Because Philip didn’t wait for Samaria to be ready.
He didn’t wait for perfect conditions.
He went.
And God moved through that.
So what does this look like for you?
It’s not about having everything figured out.
It’s not about being in the perfect place.
It’s about responding.
Going where God leads.
Speaking what He gives you.
And trusting Him to do what only He can do.
Right there.
So when you feel that hesitation again…
That thought that says, “This isn’t the right time”…
What would it look like for you to go anyway?
Because it didn’t start with a platform.
It started with one person moving in obedience.
And a whole city was changed.
So here’s the question that stays with you.
Are you waiting for the right conditions…
or are you ready to respond to where He’s already sending you?
