You ever read a promise in Scripture and feel that hesitation?
Like you see it… but you don’t fully step into it.
You’re waiting to be sure first.
Waiting for confirmation.
Waiting until it feels real.
But what if that’s backwards?
Let’s see what the Scripture actually says.
“And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.”
(KJV)
It starts with belief… not performance
“These signs shall follow them that believe…”
That’s the order.
Not signs first.
Belief first.
Then signs follow.
Do you see the difference?
A lot of people flip that.
They wait to see something… then decide if they believe.
But this says the opposite.
It’s not limited to a few
“Them that believe…”
Not just apostles.
Not just leaders.
Believers.
That’s broad.
That includes anyone who actually trusts Him.
That’s not what many expect, is it?
The action is clear
“They shall lay hands on the sick…”
That’s simple.
Not complicated.
Not hidden.
It’s physical. Direct. intentional.
And then:
“They shall recover.”
Notice that word.
Recover.
It doesn’t always say instant.
But it does say outcome.
Do you see that?
This lines up with what you’ve already seen
The disciples did this:
“They… anointed with oil many that were sick, and healed them”
(Mark 6:13)
And again:
“Peter said… rise up and walk”
(Acts 3:6)
And:
“They brought forth the sick… that… they might be healed”
(Acts 5:15–16)
This wasn’t theory.
It happened.
Through believers.
But this is where most people pause
You read this and think… is that really for me?
And something inside pulls back.
What if it doesn’t happen?
What if I feel foolish?
What if nothing changes?
So instead of acting… you stay in observation.
Is that what’s been happening?
Look at the flow again
Believe.
Act.
Then see.
Not the other way around.
Another place shows the same pattern:
“Faith without works is dead”
(James 2:17)
Faith moves.
Even when it doesn’t feel certain.
This goes deeper than just healing
It’s about trusting what He said enough to respond.
Not waiting for perfect confidence.
Not waiting until everything makes sense.
But stepping into it.
Because if you keep waiting… you never move.
And nothing follows.
Do you feel that tension?
Like you’re right on the edge… but not stepping over?
So what does this look like for you?
It might be simple.
Praying for someone instead of just thinking about it.
Laying hands when the opportunity is there.
Speaking in His name… instead of staying silent.
Not forcing anything.
But not holding back either.
What would that look like for you right now?
Here’s what you can’t ignore
The promise is clear.
Signs follow those who believe.
Not those who wait.
Not those who analyze.
Those who believe… and respond.
So be honest.
Are you waiting to see something first… or are you willing to act on what He already said?
Call to Action: The Question That Demands an AnswerIn Acts 2:37 Peter and the Apostles were asked the question – What Shall We do? For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call. Do you understand this? After hearing the gospel and believing, they asked what should would do. The answer hasn’t changed friend, Peter clearly gave the answer.
