Matthew 12:15 Explained: Why Did Everyone Get Healed… And What Does That Mean For You?

You’ve probably read moments like this and thought…

Why does it look so easy there… but not in my life?

People show up, and they’re healed. No delay. No struggle. No confusion.

So what’s different?

Is it something they had… or something we’re missing?

Let’s see what the Scripture actually says.

“But when Jesus knew it, he withdrew himself from thence: and great multitudes followed him, and he healed them all;”
Matthew 12:15 (KJV)

He withdrew himself

Jesus just walked away from conflict.

The Pharisees were plotting against Him. Instead of staying and arguing, He left.

That matters.

Because healing didn’t happen in the middle of debate. It happened after separation.

Do you see the difference?

Sometimes we expect power while staying in environments full of resistance, noise, and unbelief.

Jesus moved. Then healing flowed.

Great multitudes followed him

They didn’t just know about Him.

They followed Him.

That means movement. Intention. Pursuit.

They left where they were to get to where He was.

That’s not passive.

It raises a quiet question… are you observing Jesus, or actually moving toward Him?

Because Scripture keeps showing this pattern.

“And, behold, there came a leper and worshipped him… And Jesus put forth his hand, and touched him” (Matthew 8:2–3)

He came. Then he was healed.

“If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole” (Matthew 9:21)

She pressed through. Then she received.

There’s always movement toward Him.

He healed them all

That’s the part people rush past.

All.

Not some. Not a few. Not the “most spiritual.”

All.

That tells you something about His will.

“Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever” (Hebrews 13:8)

If He healed all there, what changed?

That’s not a trick question.

Because Scripture never says He became less willing.

It actually says the opposite.

“Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases” (Psalm 103:3)

So the issue isn’t His heart.

What was really happening there?

Jesus wasn’t putting on a show.

This wasn’t random.

This was fulfillment.

Just a few verses later, it points back to Isaiah. The servant of the Lord bringing healing and restoration.

The people weren’t chasing a moment.

They were stepping into what God had already spoken.

And they came in groups.

There’s something about collective expectation. Not hype. But agreement.

They followed Him together.

And healing met them there.

Let’s be honest for a second

This is where it hits a nerve.

Because you read “he healed them all”… and then you look at your situation.

And there’s a gap.

You’ve prayed. You’ve believed. Maybe you’re still waiting.

So what do you do with that?

Do you quietly lower your expectation?

Do you explain it away?

Or do you stay with what the Scripture actually shows?

Is that tension something you’ve been carrying?

What this is calling you into

This verse isn’t asking you to perform.

It’s showing you a direction.

They followed Him.

Not perfectly. Not with perfect understanding.

But they moved toward Him.

That might look simple, but it’s real.

Turning your attention back to Him when your mind runs.

Choosing to believe what He said even when your body says something else.

Staying close instead of pulling back.

“Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you” (James 4:8)

That’s still true.

So here’s the question that lands…

What would it actually look like for you to follow Him in this area, instead of just thinking about healing?

Call to Action: The Question That Demands an Answer

In Acts 2:37 Peter and the Apostles were asked the question – What Shall We do?

And in Acts 2:38 Peter answered, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

Do you understand this? After hearing the gospel and believing, they asked what should would do. The answer hasn’t changed friend, Peter clearly gave the answer. The question for you today is, Have you receieved the Holy Spirit Since you believed?
