You ever pray for something… and it shifts a little, but not fully?
Not nothing. But not complete either.
And now you’re stuck wondering… is this progress… or is something wrong?
Let’s see what the Scripture actually says.
“And he cometh to Bethsaida; and they bring a blind man unto him, and besought him to touch him.
And he took the blind man by the hand, and led him out of the town; and when he had spit on his eyes, and put his hands upon him, he asked him if he saw ought.
And he looked up, and said, I see men as trees, walking.
After that he put his hands again upon his eyes, and made him look up: and he was restored, and saw every man clearly.
And he sent him away to his house, saying, Neither go into the town, nor tell it to any in the town.”
(KJV)
It started the same way… but didn’t finish the same way
“They bring a blind man…”
Same pattern.
Someone is brought to Jesus.
They ask Him to touch him.
And He responds.
“He took the blind man by the hand…”
He leads him away.
Personal again.
Intentional again.
But then something different happens.
The first touch didn’t complete it
Jesus touches him.
Then asks:
“Do you see anything?”
That question matters.
Because something has changed… but not fully.
“I see men as trees, walking.”
So he’s not blind anymore.
But he’s not seeing clearly either.
Do you see that?
This is in between.
That’s not what many expect, is it?
Jesus didn’t stop there
He didn’t say… that’s enough.
He didn’t walk away.
“After that he put his hands again…”
There’s a second touch.
And then:
“He was restored… and saw every man clearly.”
Complete.
Clear.
Finished.
This shows something important
Not every moment looks the same.
Most healings were immediate.
But here… it came in stages.
And Jesus stayed in it until it was complete.
That lines up with this:
“He which hath begun a good work in you will perform it”
(Philippians 1:6)
Do you see that?
Started… and finished.
But this is where people struggle
You experience something partial.
A shift.
A small change.
But not the full result.
And instead of staying with it… you question it.
Maybe this isn’t working.
Maybe this is all there is.
So you stop expecting more.
Is that what’s happened for you?
Look at what the man did
He answered honestly.
“I see…”
Not pretending.
Not exaggerating.
Just real.
And he stayed there with Jesus.
He didn’t walk away mid-process.
That matters.
Another place shows this kind of persistence:
“Then came the disciples… and said, Why could not we cast him out?
And Jesus said… Because of your unbelief”
(Matthew 17:19–20)
Growth. Learning. Continuing.
So what does this look like for you?
If something has started… don’t treat it like it’s finished.
Stay with Him.
Don’t settle for partial when He’s still present.
Don’t step back when He’s still working.
Keep bringing it to Him.
Keep responding.
What would it look like for you to do that right now?
Here’s what you can’t ignore
The first touch wasn’t the end.
And it wasn’t failure.
It was part of the process.
Jesus stayed until it was clear.
Complete.
Finished.
So be honest.
Have you stopped at partial… or are you willing to stay with Him until you see clearly?
