Jesus Revealed as Spirit Fullness (Revelation 3:1; 5:6)

Jesus Revealed as Spirit Fullness

Brethren, we are not dealing with an abstract thought here. We are gazing upon the living Christ, the One who has the seven Spirits of God and whose seven eyes are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth.

Revelation is not painting confusion – it is revealing completion. Seven speaks of fullness. Jesus is not partly filled; He is the embodiment of the Spirit in all His perfection. He lacks nothing, and nothing of God’s presence or power exists outside of Him.

When Isaiah declared, “The Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon Him” (Isaiah 11:2), it was not a distant prophecy – it was the heartbeat of heaven waiting to be seen on earth. The Spirit didn’t visit Jesus occasionally; He rested and remained upon Him.

The verse lists the sevenfold character of the Spirit – the Spirit of the Lord, wisdom, understanding, counsel, might, knowledge, and the fear of the Lord. Do you see it, friends? Every quality the human heart longs for – insight, strength, discernment, reverence – is found in Christ without measure.

Isaiah 42:1 confirms it: “I have put My Spirit upon Him; He shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles.” God Himself says, “I have put My Spirit upon Him.” Not a trace of fleshly striving, not a flicker of human ambition – just divine perfection.

Matthew 12:18 echoes this fulfillment, showing us that in Jesus, the prophecy walked among men. And Colossians 2:9 seals the truth: “In Him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily.” O my soul, think of that – all the fullness of God in human flesh!

Then we step into the synagogue at Nazareth. The scroll opens. “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me” (Luke 4:18–21). What a moment! Heaven’s silence breaks. The Messiah declares the anointing fulfilled before their very eyes. Every healing, every deliverance, every act of compassion was not random – it was Spirit fullness in motion.

Acts 10:38 tells us plainly: “God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power.” Power to heal the broken, to lift the fallen, to destroy the works of the devil. John 1:32–33 shows the Spirit descending and remaining. Remaining, brethren! Others had moments; Jesus had permanence.

Luke 3:22 and Matthew 3:16–17 confirm the divine approval: the dove descended, and the Father’s voice thundered- “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.” Spirit fullness was not silent; heaven bore witness.

And what of John 3:34? “God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto Him.” That one line could shake the soul. Every prophet before had a portion; every saint since has a share. But Jesus – He received the Spirit without measure. Every drop of divine wisdom, every surge of heavenly power flowed through Him unhindered. Colossians 1:19 affirms, “It pleased the Father that in Him should all fullness dwell.”

John 1:16 reminds us that from His fullness we receive, “grace for grace.” And Ephesians 1:23 declares that the Church – His body – is now called “the fullness of Him that filleth all in all.” Do you see where this is going? The same Spirit that filled Jesus now fills His people. Ephesians 3:19 calls us to be “filled with all the fullness of God.” That’s not poetic exaggeration; it’s a divine invitation.

Then comes Revelation 5:6. The Lamb stands as though slain, with seven eyes – the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth. Friends, those eyes see everything. Nothing escapes His Spirit’s gaze. Zechariah 4:10 said, “The eyes of the Lord run to and fro through the whole earth.”

And 2 Chronicles 16:9 tells us why – He’s searching for hearts fully devoted to Him. The Spirit that filled Christ now searches for those in whom He can continue His work.

At Pentecost, Acts 2:4, the same Spirit filled the believers. Not a different one, not a lesser one – the same. John 20:22 captures that intimate moment when Jesus breathed on them and said, “Receive ye the Holy Ghost.” That breath carried the life of God Himself. Romans 8:9–11 tells us that the very Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead now dwells in us – quickening, empowering, transforming.

So what do we do with this, brethren? We remember that Spirit fullness means nothing lacking of God’s presence or power. The same Spirit that filled the Lamb now fills His body. The seven Spirits are not seven beings – they are one Spirit in sevenfold perfection.

Wisdom for your confusion. Might for your weakness. Knowledge for your ignorance. Counsel for your decisions. Fear of the Lord for your humility. Every part of God’s character, available through His Spirit.

O my soul, why settle for a trickle when Christ offers a river? Why live half-filled when the fountain never runs dry? The fullness that once rested in Jesus is now poured into the hearts of those who believe. The Spirit that anointed Him now abides in us.

Be filled, not in measure, but in fullness – for this is the revelation of Jesus Christ, the One who holds the seven Spirits of God and fills all in all.
