Jesus Revealed as the Holy and True

Jesus Revealed as the Holy and True

Brethren, lift up your eyes and behold the One who is both Holy and True. This is not a title lightly given, nor a name borrowed from another. It is His eternal nature, shining forth from Genesis to Revelation, declared by prophets, confirmed by angels, confessed by apostles, and even acknowledged by demons.

To know Him as Holy and True is to see the blazing purity of God and the unshakable certainty of His Word.

The Holiness of God

“Be ye holy; for I am holy” (Leviticus 11:44). God Himself sets the standard. He is not calling us to climb a ladder of human goodness. He calls us into His likeness. Isaiah declared, “The High and Lofty One… dwelleth in holiness” (Isaiah 57:15).

Friends, holiness is not an optional extra. It is the very air of His throne room. Habakkuk reminds us, “Thou art of purer eyes than to behold evil” (Habakkuk 1:13). Can we trifle with sin when God Himself cannot even look upon it?

The Holiness of Christ

And here is the wonder—this holy God took on flesh. Gabriel’s voice broke the silence of Nazareth: “That holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God” (Luke 1:35).

Demons trembled: “I know thee who thou art; the Holy One of God” (Luke 4:34). Peter’s lips confessed it too: “We believe… thou art that Christ, the Son of the living God” (John 6:69).

The writer of Hebrews raises the banner higher: “Such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners” (Hebrews 7:26). Do you see it, friends? The holiness of God revealed without blemish in the face of Jesus Christ.

The Lord as the True One

But holiness without truth would leave us trembling without hope. Jeremiah cries, “The Lord is the true God, he is the living God, and an everlasting king” (Jeremiah 10:10).

In Christ, that truth takes on flesh and breath: “I am the way, the truth, and the life” (John 14:6). He is not merely a speaker of truth – He is the truth. Revelation calls Him “He that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David” (Revelation 3:7).

And again, the heavens split, and the rider appears: “Faithful and True” (Revelation 19:11). Friends, can you trust Him? Yes! For He is true. Always true. Forever true.

Holiness and Truth Together

What happens when holiness and truth meet? Scripture tells us: “The Lord is righteous in all his ways, and holy in all his works” (Psalm 145:17). Everything He does bears that double seal—holy and true. Jesus prayed, “Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth” (John 17:17).

Truth purifies. Truth makes holy. Paul echoes it: “Put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness” (Ephesians 4:24). And heaven itself resounds with this anthem: “Great and marvellous are thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are thy ways” (Revelation 15:3).

The Call to Decision

So, what will we do with this Jesus—holy and true? Will we hide in sin when His eyes are too pure to behold evil? Will we waver in doubt when He is the truth that never bends? Will we stand idle when He calls us to holiness and truth in our daily walk?

O my soul, the answer cannot wait. This is not a truth to admire at arm’s length—it is a truth that demands surrender, obedience, worship.

Jesus, the Holy and the True, calls you now. Will you walk in His holiness? Will you anchor in His truth? The decision is yours, but the invitation is clear.
